Having a hardship is no guarantee of admission. I asked for an art class, but just my luck all the slots were occupied. My counselor, very insistent on me taking Peer Tutoring, persuaded me to do so.

I walked through the doors and noticed this was not a regular class. I looked around—this was a class with mentally and physically disabled students. Not just that, I was put into the class with students who have lower functioning disabilities than the rest of the handicapped. I thought to myself how much of a challenge this was going to be.

By this time, I could not believe how much I would miss the students of this class. Walking everyday to sixth period was something I looked forward to.

Or play soccer outside when one was missing a leg. But these challenges they face everyday, and I cannot imagine my daily life like this. They truly are an inspiration to many and to myself. This experience was once in a lifetime and it has helped me in so many ways to find out the person whom I truly am. Report Abuse. Are you sure you want to delete this answer?
