We can say that she is human because we saw her attacking a journalist in Thailand in a surge of anger, but it was not for that regrettable and extremely terrestrial incident, Bjork seems a creature halfway between earth and heaven. An eclectic and colorful mother-nature, an elfin of the forest, a surreal and powerful creative force: listening to her music, you get thrown into a welcoming and surprising interregnum, without geographic coordinates and that consists of water and ice.
A lifetime devoted to music, occasionally given to movies, and now engaged in environmental protection.
After creating albums of great success and starring for Lars Von Trier‘s Dancer in the Dark, Bjork today not only continues to be a leading artistic figure, but has also formalized her commitment.
Her last Biophilia sublimes union between music and technology: a multimedia project launched in October 2011 that provides some apps for iPad that allow the user to interact with the environment created for each song, playing with it, modifying it, exploring its potential.
At the same time, after a career spent trying to keep out of political issues (although she repeatedly declared to be in favor of Tibet and Kosovo independence, provoking international controversy), she has decided to align herself and start fighting for her country, Iceland: a land that has recently faced political and economic situations in a revolutionary manner (some have compared it to the “Arab spring” of the north), and that holds a unique environmental heritage.
Bjork has created an organization called Nattura, as her famous song, with the aim to fight privatization and looting and protect national resources, repeatedly threatened by state poor management (like in the case of biogas supply to a Canadian company).
But Bjork is also fashion, and could not be otherwise: her creative power is expressed through her clothes, always remembering us that we are probably in front of a woman of this world.
Because she is not simply eccentric, but a creature apart, merged with nature (famous is her swan dress). Alexander McQueen and Jeremy Scott have often contributed to the creation of her style, recognizing in her a great and prolific muse.
Her land speaks through her body, her being, covered with moss and water vapor, making her live and shine through the voice, colors and clothes: absolutely unstoppable.
una delle mie donne preferite…good article
Davvero un esempio potente
Io la adoro.
Ho tutti i suoi CD, tutti. IDOLA!
Your blog is SO cool!
Il suo ultimo album è stratosferico
